The Play That Goes Wrong is an English play that won the highest awards in British and American Theatres including the Lawrence Oliver and Tony Awards in 2015 and 2017 respectively. It is also considered to be one of the best onstage comedies since its creation in 2014. Abdel Baky flew to The Mischief Theatre Company in London, acquired the performing rights to the play, and translated it into Egyptian Arabic. The Egyptian version is now showing with the title of “Masraheya Kolaha Ghalat/Gareema Fel Maadi” with two separate casts in the historical Rihanny Theatre in downtown Cairo. Abdel Baky had personally renovated the theater recently and was able to restore its essence and former glory.
