About the workshop
Darb 1718 is happy to organize a “Pottery for Beginners” workshop with the instructor Abdelhakim Sayed. The workshop will be held every Saturday and Wednesday from 06:00 PM to 09:00 PM From From Sat 20 of February till Wed 3 of March 2021
Workshop Program
The first lecture: Presenting a general idea about ceramics and methods of manual molding
The second lecture: Forming ropes and corns
Third lecture: formation of slides and the work of geometric shapes
Fourth lecture: Methods of decoration with clay and how to burn products
Fifth and Sixth Lecture: Training on the wheel and how it works
Seventh and Eighth Lecture: Painting Workshop Glazing, Glazing Roads, Fire Kits, Final Product and Production

You will create between 8 to 12 pieces of pottery.
About the instructor, Abdelhakim Sayed
Abdelhakim Sayed is the Director of the Foustat Traditional Crafts Centre, Cultural Development Fund, Ministry of Culture. He’s also a member of the Syndicate of Plastic Arts.
Abdelhakim has participated in the Cairo International Ceramic Biennale, as well as the 2nd, 4th and 6th editions of the Youth Salon. He has also participated in establishing the Pottery Village, Old Cairo.
