Alaa El Ghareeb is a consultant in general surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University. General surgery is a surgical field that deals with abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. It is also concerned with diseases involving the skin, breast, soft tissue, trauma, Peripheral artery disease, and hernias. General surgeons are also trained to conduct gastroscopy and colonoscopy surgeries.
