Overview
Tarek Abdel Ghafar is a cardiologist with a master's degree in Cardiology and vascular diseases at Cairo University. He is a member of the European Society for Cardiology and head of the division of hypertension at the Egyptian Society for Cardiology. Cardiology is a branch of internal medicine concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of the heart and the circulatory system. This field includes the medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, heart valve disease, and electrophysiology. Pediatric cardiologists are paediatricians who specialize in heart diseases, whereas cardiothoracic surgeons or cardiac surgeons are doctors specializing in heart surgery, which is a speciality of general surgery. طبيب قلب حاصل على درجة الماجستير في أمراض القلب والأوعية الدموية بجامعة القاهرة. وهو رئيس الجمعية المصرية لنقص الدورة الدموية، وعضو الجمعية الأوروبية لأمراض القلب، ورئيس قسم ارتفاع ضغط الدم في الجمعية المصرية لأمراض القلب. طب القلب هو فرع من فروع الطب الباطني يهتم بتشخيص وعلاج القلب والجهاز الدوري. ويشمل هذا المجال التشخيص الطبي وعلاج عيوب القلب الخلقية ومرض الشريان التاجي وفشل القلب وأمراض صمام القلب والفيزيولوجيا الكهربية. يضم طب القلب عدة تخصصات داخلية، مثل طب قلب الأطفال أو أطباء الأطفال المتخصصين في أمراض القلب، وجراحة القلب أو الجراحين المتخصصين في مجال جراحة القلوب، وهو أحد تخصصات الجراحة العامة. كما بتدريب أطباء القلب على إدخال الدعامات وأجهزة تنظيم ضربات القلب الاصطناعية في القلب.
