El Rihany Theatre

Known as the Charlie Chaplin of the East, Egyptian actor, Naguib El Rihany established this renowned theatre to promote Egyptian theatre and give prominence to art and creativity. The theatre has been home to a wide range of admired plays over the years. It is recognized as a national monument and a cherished treasure. Naguib grew up in Cairo and lived in Bab Al-Sharia neighbourhood, so he lived with the simple and poor classes. That is why he was keen to portray the impoverished in his plays and movies.  See translation
