Overview

Yusuf Agha al-Hinn Mosque was established in 1625 by a Mamluk prince, so the decoration and structures match with the mamluk culture. A wide mashrabiyya occupies the entire upper part of the northwest iwan and overlooked the canal before filling and replacing it with a lane. Providing mashrabiyas over countryside views was a common practice in period domestic architecture.
