Overview
Mosque of Fatima Shaqra, also known by Mosque of al-Mar'a, or "Mosque of the Women, is originally built by Haji Rashiduddin bin Abdullah in 1409, then probably been renewed by Fatma Shaqra as her name is written on the public door. The only remaining Mamluk elements of the mosque that survive are the portal and the mihrab. The rest of the mosque, including the minaret, which has been heavily scaffolded since the 1992 earthquake, are Ottoman additions.
